I know its a little late to post what I wore on Christmas...seeing as it will be New Years Eve in two days...but better late than never, lol. For this look, I wanted to finally try my hand at the Western-inspired trend. One of the only things that has kept me from trying a Western-inspired outfit can be summed up by one word...PLAID! I am not the biggest fan of plaid (mostly because I always look like a farmer in it, lol) but when I saw this great chambray roll-cuff shirt in Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and I just decided to go for it!
To keep the look from becoming too casual, I wore a clog style ankle boot with a modest (3 inch) heel. I bought the shirt a size larger than I normally would wear so it would be nice and flowy; I wore a white tank with a ruffled neck to peek through from underneath, adding a hint of femininity. I finished the look with a studded belt used to cinch the waist and my Tiffany Keys necklace and two-tone Fossil watch I received as graduation gifts. Even though I don't (yet) own the Coach Classic Willis satchel, it would be a perfect addition to this outfit.
What do you think of my attempt at a Western-inspired trend? I hope I've inspired others who have wanted to try the trend but arent exactly fans of plaid to give it a go!
Until next time :)
