Baby It's COLD Outside (brrrrr)

Until recently, its been unseasonably warm here in Chicago; but a good thing never lasts forever and the temperature today (and for the next couple of days) is projected to be in the mid-teens to low 20s.  Chicagoans are definitely used to this and worse (much, much worse) but I must say, it was nice while it lasted.  

We had our first substantial snowfall since that huge blizzard of last year yesterday and so I got to rock my new Sorel boots for the 1st time :) I'm not gonna lie, they were HEAVY but they were also warm, waterproof and CUTE which are the reasons I bought them.  Good winter boots are more than a fashion statement here in the Chi, they are a way of life!  Be sure to look out for a post dedicated to my new boots.  

Since its colder today,and not actively precipitating, I decided to wear my UGGS because everyone knows that UGGS are the go-to shoe for warm tootsies.  No matter what anyone says I don't think they'll ever go out of style...at least not in places were their warmth is a necessity.  I got the sweater recently at Old Navy for like $4 (!!!) and its so cute and comfy.  I got the scarf from H&M in September on a total fluke; I didn't really even want it, but decided that a scarf was a good way to jump on the leopard print bandwagon.  Apparently this scarf was one of the stores hottest sellers because it sold out that same day (at least at my H&M) and now every time I wear it, someone comments on how lucky I am to have grabbed it before it sold out.
